YouthBank Tower Hamlets receives awards!

March 2008

YouthBank Tower Hamlets (YBTH) has been awarded for 'Achieving Economic Wellbeing' and 'Raising Aspirations' by the Tower Hamlets Women's Achievement Award, which takes place every year.

These were announced at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets 'International Women’s Day' event held at Bishop Challenor Girls School on Sunday 9th March 2008.

'Achieving Economic Wellbeing' recognises the work of YBTH as grant makers and the support it gives to young individuals.

The 'Raising Aspirations' award was awarded independently by the judges to YBTH out of all the youth bodies in the Borough. They commented on YBTH's outstanding contribution in, and leadership towards, improving young people's outlook of their future.

They went on to say it was evident that YBTH has been at the forefront of the work being carried out in Tower Hamlets to improve opportunities for young people both through their grant making and other project work.

Getting recognition for all their hard work has boosted the panel members’ confidence, encouraging them to take more initiative in finding new ways to improve life in the community.
