YouthBank Tower Hamlets
We regret to announce that YouthBank Tower Hamlets will be closing from 31 July 2010.
YouthBank Tower Hamlets (YBTH) is a grant-making project for young people run by young people, aged 14-24. A committee of young grant-makers, from the same age range as the applicants, operate under the main board of the Trust. The panel members oversee all grant-making and award grants for charitable purposes.
Funding Factories
YBTH deliver a project called Funding Factory for free to youth groups within the borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a ten hour training course that is accredited as a level two qualification by the National Open College Network (NOCN). This project has been commissioned to YBTH to carry out on behalf of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
If you are, or know anyone who would be, interested in providing free accredited grant making training for a youth group or would like more information please send an email to shamina khanum with your query and contact details.
Groups must be formed by six to twelve young people who are aged between 14-21 years. The programme is usually split into 5 x 2.5 hours evening sessions and based at the youth groups venue. Groups need to be supervised by a youth worker during each session as YBTH will not be held responsible for any problems that may occur. Completion of the course will be rewarded by Certificates of Participation and NOCN Certificates will only be awarded to those who fulfil the criteria of the course.
More information on YBTH will be available soon on their new website.
