Direct Debit / Standing Order

A Direct Debit is an agreement by you, giving someone else permission to claim payments from your account, and instructing your bank to allow this.

A Standing Order is an instruction from you to your bank to pay a fixed amount to someone else on a regular basis. You are able to change the amount and frequency of payment at any time by instructing your bank.

So, while a Direct Debit requires your beneficiary to claim the money, a Standing Order requires your bank to send the money.

Direct Debit

Giving by Direct Debit is very easy using our online regular donation form. You simply need to be the account holder of a personal bank or building society account.

You provide us with your details, choose how much you would like to give (a minimum donation of £10 applies) and how often.

We will only take the amount specified by you and this will not change unless you want it to.

If you are considering giving by Direct Debit it is important to remember that you are protected under the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme. Under this, any amounts debited by mistake will be refunded immediately.

Please note that when donating to the Trust the Direct Debit payments will be drawn from card rather than the bank account. Payments will go through normally and you only need to update your card details if it changes.

Standing Order

The amount and frequency of donation is up to you. The payments will be automatically transferred from your bank or building society account to the Trust’s bank account.

To set up a Standing Order, please download the Standing Order Form (71k). You will need to print this out, fill it in and return to us by post. Alternatively, contact your bank.
