Mansell Street Women’s Group, the first group to receive a Grassroots Grant in the City of London, have received an unexpected £250 donation from the Community Development Foundation(CDF) at their Trustee’s Event.

The group began in 2006 to work with Asian women in the City of London, to help increase their feelings of empowerment and reduce social isolation.

They were asked to attend and speak to the Trustees about their project and how they have been affected by the recession.

As a thank you, CDF, who administer Grassroots Grants across the UK, made a donation, which the group will be using to take their members out for a picnic.
